How to clean a horse?

As far as cleaning goes, horses are like chicken. They bathe in the dust. It makes it hard for parasites to survive. The first thing all horses do when we get back from trail is to roll in the dirt. At Geronimo, we try not to meddle in horses natural habits. Plus, we think of ourselves as riders and not cleaners of horses.

That's why before riding we clean only the part of horses where the saddle and girth touch a horse. Human mania that everything should be clean, washed and scented probably leads horses to desperation. They are a target for flies, mosquitoes, bees and dosens of other parasites. It's enough to let a horse out from the barn and you'll see what's good for them.

So, if they want a mud-bath, who am i to interfere?
